I finally got my iPad today, but there are already a lot of unbox articles online. What I’m more interested in is the Apple’s packaging. How they pack their package and deliver to us.

First, prefect size of package holder… at least it’s not a lot of air bubble or other stuff in there.

Second, a slice of plastic for easier to pull out the iPad

Third, everything is perfect placed i sections
I really enjoy to open an Apple product everytime . It designed to feel like a gift without any other decoration on it. Everything is easy to pick up without stress. All of these small designs are really sweet
One night iPad experiencing :
Screen and display is really bright and beautiful.
It’s not that heavy…
Internet is really smooth and fast on iPad, and I don’t have any internet issue yet…
about the iBook, I tried to convert the PDF files to eBook, and I found a software called Calibre (free), which can change the PDF to ePub.
and it works on iPad surprisingly nice…
Someone said it’s a giant iPod touch, I agree, but it much better!!!
I think that is what I feel tonight

This is a pretty cool website to create your own face icon. If you don’t want to use your photo on social website, Face Your Manga will be a good choice.

At the end of my spring break, I went to the International home+housewares show in Chicago. This was the third time I went to the show and helped my father’s company to set up the exhibition. All exhibitor can get 7-day free train pass for the show, also, there are free shuttles from hotels to the McCORMICK PLACE. Unfortunately, I did not take many photo during the show, because most of time I was working and talking to clients.

Lackside Center is the main center where those big companies are. You will be checked for the ID in every entry. Most of products here are more high-tech products, like vacuum machines, coffee machines, and cooking products. I like to walk around and get free coffee from different companies. This year, there is a new product called Sodastream, which gets a lot of attention this year. I think it will be popular in this summer.

As a design student, I’m more interested in design competition. There are 6 students who showed their works and they are there to talk about it. They have some pretty cool concept and models. It was good to see what other schools are doing and I hope I can join the competition next year, too. Also, I started to analysis the products, how are they made? how are they finished? and what materials they used? I was very interested in and I learned a lot.
What I learned more is about the balance between product design, business, and manufacturing. My father started to teach me a lot of things in business. How to deal with client, how to do the business. How his business works here.
